Join your yacht in Camden Harbor. Along the streets of Camden, close to the harbor, are cute little boutiques with gifts and souvenirs.  Leave Camden to explore Penobscot Bay, cruising either down towards Owl’s Head or across to Islesboro Island.  Anchor off Pulpit Harbor, one of the prettiest and most protected anchorages on the coast.

Portland Maine Headlands

Portland

Somewhat of an oxymoron, cruising north from Portland Maine to Camden Maine on a private yacht, enjoying a luxury yacht charter is actually cruising Down East in Maine. However no matter in which actual compass direction you are cruising, the coastline is lovely, including islands and little fishing villages, and the waters are full of New England fish and lobsters, while the shores are full of clams waiting to be raked or dug. For a special treat, enjoy a fresh lobster bake in clean seawater and seaweed right on the beach for real taste of Maine, followed by wild blueberry pie on a crewed yachtcharter along the coast of Maine.

NEWPORT – SAG HARBOR

From 1851 to 1983, the USA retained yachting’s prestigious America’s Cup. The most famous races took place off Newport, where sailing is the No. 1 sport. The Museum of Yachting (Fort Adams State Park) tells the tale, while the International Yacht Restoration School (449 Thames Street) continues the tradition. Provincetown, Cape Cod

Located right on the eastern tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown, is a great stop on a crewed yacht charter when exploring southern New England or when cruising up to Maine. Once a little fishing village, as the last stop before heading out to the greater Atlantic Ocean, this village is now an artist’s community, filled with little shops and galleries, and many one of a kind boutiques. This is also a natural port from which to head out to try to watch the great Humpback Whales that spend the summer months in these waters. There is plenty to see and do when including Provincetown on the very tip of Cape Cod, as part of a crewed yacht charter itinerary.

Sag Harbor Windmill

Tucked into the eastern end of Long Island in New York, Sag Harbor is a great location to embark, disembark or just to visit as a port o’ call, during a crewed yacht charter in New England. With a large protected natural harbor this was a perfect location for the colonial settlement to burgeon on the surrounding shores. Today the Sag Harbor Village District is on the National Register of Historic Places surrounding a still well protected harbor, now mainly in use by visiting yachtsmen, and is a great port to include on a crewed yacht charter.

Cape Cod Canal

Extending out into the Atlantic as a peninsula, Cape Cod, is an integral part of the New England coastline, and should always be a part of a yacht charter in southern New England waters. Often referred to locally as “The Cape”, Cape Cod is technically both a peninsula and an island, as “The Cape” is separated from the mainland by the man made Cape Cod Canal built in 1914, which effectively cut “The Cape” off as an island from the mainland. The Cape Cod Canal is also a boon to yachtsmen that want to include waters south and north of Cape Cod in a crewed yacht charter itinerary in southern New England.
