One of the draws of Bellingham is the great outdoors. Ax-throwing, swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, walking the boardwalk, or simply enjoying a stunning sunset over Boulevard Park are some of the best ways to experience its natural beauty. Lake Padden offers a gravel bike path of a little more than 2.5 miles, perfect for a sightseeing bike ride or a leisurely stroll.

Whale-watching, whether from aboard the yacht or as part of a whale-watching guided tour, is also a wonderful experience. Orcas, minke, and humpback whales all frequent the water off Washington’s coast, as do seals, porpoises, sea lions, and bald eagles.

Other scenic hotspots in the parks around Bellingham include Whatcom Falls inside Whatcom Falls Park, Chuckanut Mountain in Larrabee State Park, and Mount Baker Wilderness Area to the north, near the border with Canada.

Art lovers will enjoy the galleries, boutiques, bookstores, and Victorian-style architecture in Fairhaven. This is also a wonderful place to find souvenirs and gifts. Shops in Fairhaven offer paintings, pottery, jewelry, and woodwork from local artists.

Mount Baker Theatre hosts world-renowned musicians, plays, and film festivals as well as local performers.

A great place to enjoy delicious fresh seafood is Taylor Shellfish Farm. The shellfish they serve comes straight from the mudflats of Samish Bay, meaning it’s just about as fresh as seafood can get.

Be sure to explore the town of Bellingham before starting a Pacific Northwest charter after boarding your crewed private charter yacht in Bellingham Washington.
